OVERVIEW
The beluga is a whale that is most often found in the Arctic and sub-Arctic waters of Alaska, Canada, Greenland, and Russia. They are extremely sociable creatures, living, hunting, and migrating together in groups ranging from between a few individuals to hundreds of whales. Their rotund forehead, called the "melon", is very flexible and is capable of changing shape, allowing the beluga to produce several different facial expressions. Belugas make many different sounds, including chirping, clicking, whistling, and squealing, which allow them to relay important information to each other.
